Kin Collective is proud to be working again with Ely Foodbank, a well-known local charity supporting individuals and families across East Cambridgeshire and Fenland.
Having partnered with the organisation previously, we’ve seen first-hand the care, compassion, and community impact the team creates every day. They’re now looking for a Foodbank Operations Manager to play a central role in supporting the continued delivery and development of their services.
This is a varied and rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing structure, organisation, and people together within a role that genuinely makes a difference locally.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the CEO and wider team, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the foodbank network, supporting volunteers, maintaining strong referral partnerships, and helping ensure services continue to run smoothly across multiple locations.
The role combines operational management, volunteer coordination, community engagement, safeguarding, systems administration, and process improvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on and people-focused environment.
The Role
Responsibilities will include:
Supporting the smooth delivery of foodbank services across multiple sites
Coordinating volunteers, rotas, onboarding, and ongoing engagement
Acting as a key contact for referral agencies, local partners, and community organisations
Supporting safeguarding processes and operational compliance
Managing and maintaining systems including Monday.com, Microsoft 365, DCS, and Bright HR
Monitoring operational activity, reporting, and process improvements
Supporting community initiatives, seasonal campaigns, and volunteer events
Helping maintain strong operational standards across all foodbank sessions
What They’re Looking For
They’re keen to hear from people who bring:
Previous experience coordinating teams, volunteers, or community services
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building ability
Confidence managing multiple priorities within a busy environment
A calm, solutions-focused approach
Strong IT literacy and confidence learning new systems
Understanding of safeguarding and handling sensitive information appropriately
A genuine passion for supporting people and community-focused work
Experience within the charity sector or using systems such as Monday.com would be advantageous, but not essential.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a respected local organisation where your work will have a direct impact on the community around you.
You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team environment, working alongside volunteers, referral partners, and community organisations to help deliver vital support to people when they need it most.
Location
This is a primarily home-based role with regular travel across the wider Ely Foodbank network and community partner locations. Applicants should therefore be within reasonable commuting distance of areas such as Cambridge, Newmarket, Soham, Littleport, March, Chatteris, and surrounding Cambridgeshire locations.
Please note, occasional evening or weekend attendance may be required to support community events, campaigns, and seasonal initiatives.
