Are you passionate about social impact and looking to take your first step into the charity or not-for-profit world? Do you want to build a career where you can make a real difference in people's lives?
We’re working with a growing, mission-driven charity supporting people facing hardship, and they’re looking for a proactive, people-focused Fundraising Officer to join their team.
Whether you've just finished university, come from a background in marketing, sales, or community outreach, or you're simply ready for a meaningful new direction, this could be the launchpad you’re looking for.
What you'll be doing:
This is a 12 month FTC role where you’ll support and lead across a range of fundraising activity, with no two days the same. From writing your first grant applications to planning engaging community events, this is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll develop key skills in areas like:
Donor engagement and relationship building
Writing funding bids for trusts and foundations
Creating and running awareness campaigns
Supporting corporate partnerships and individual giving
Helping to manage fundraising events and community outreach
Using CRM systems to keep track of donors and impact
Bringing new ideas to engage supporters across digital channels
You'll have support from an experienced manager, and space to make the role your own. The charity is growing, so there’s real potential to shape your path as part of that journey.
About you:
You don’t need to have done it all before, but you’ll ideally bring:
A genuine passion for ethical, purpose-led work
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Confidence with digital tools and social media
Experience (even as a volunteer) in events planning, stewardship, or working with people
An interest in the world of fundraising, bid writing, or donor relationships
A driving licence and access to a car for occasional local travel
Whether you've been involved in university fundraising, helped run a charity event, or are simply keen to learn about major gifts, legacy fundraising, or campaign management, this is a brilliant place to grow.
Why apply?
This is more than a job, it’s a chance to start a career with purpose. You’ll be joining a team that cares, in a role that directly supports people going through tough times. You’ll build skills that are in high demand across the third sector, and you’ll get the chance to shape the future of the charity’s fundraising function.
Where you’ll work:
This is a hybrid role with remote working and weekly in-person meetups in the Cambridgeshire area. Ideal if you’re based in or near Cambridgeshire, or places such as Ely, Peterborough, St Ives, March, Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, Downham Market.
